Job Purpose

The Safety Supervisor at Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Co., Ltd., Nong Khae Aquatic Feed Factory, plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of the workplace within the Freshwater Aquaculture business unit. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs that comply with relevant laws and company policies, fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. The role demands proactive risk management and effective communication to maintain a secure environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors while supporting the overall operational objectives of the Freshwater Feed Factory of Nongkhae division.

With a focus on occupational health, safety, environmental stewardship, and energy management, the Safety Supervisor coordinates closely with internal teams and external regulatory bodies to identify hazards, prevent incidents, and promote sustainable workplace practices. By engaging in training, emergency preparedness, and policy development, this position contributes significantly to both employee well-being and regulatory compliance, ensuring a productive and resilient work environment.

Job Description

The Safety Supervisor is accountable for leading and managing all facets of occupational health, safety, environment, and energy (SHE&En) within the factory setting. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct thorough inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, occupational health, environmental, and energy regulations and standards.
  2. Develop and implement annual safety plans, monitoring activities to ensure effective execution and continuous adherence to safety protocols.
  3. Perform regular safety patrols and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards and recommend practical, corrective actions.
  4. Deliver comprehensive training sessions and educational programs to enhance employee knowledge, safety skills, and awareness.
  5. Prepare accurate and timely safety reports and documentation for submission to regulatory authorities as required by law.
  6. Coordinate the identification, analysis, and prevention of workplace hazards, including accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  7. Develop, maintain, and periodically test emergency response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures, ensuring all employees are prepared for crisis situations.
  8. Lead and support the Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment Committee, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  9. Oversee contractor safety programs, insuring that contractors comply with company safety policies and legal obligations while working onsite.
  10. Manage SHE&En systems to maintain certification standards and promote continuous improvement initiatives aligned with global best practices.
  11. Collect and analyze safety data, using insights to recommend improvements and prevent recurrence of occupational incidents.
  12. Communicate regularly with management and stakeholders regarding safety performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  13. Develop practical safety manuals and operational standards tailored to the specific needs of the factory environment.
  14. Foster strong partnerships with governmental agencies and external safety organizations to maintain compliance and leverage best practices.

Experience

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing occupational safety, health, environmental, and energy matters within industrial or manufacturing environments, with at least 8 years of demonstrated practice. Experience should encompass:

  • Implementing and managing workplace safety programs aligned with national and international standards.
  • Leading safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills effectively.
  • Developing training curricula and delivering educational sessions to diverse employee groups.
  • Collaborating with regulatory agencies and successfully navigating compliance requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives based on incident analysis and safety performance metrics.

Experience in feed production or closely related sectors within the aquaculture or food industry is highly advantageous, with a solid understanding of the specific risks and operational challenges in such settings.

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards applicable to manufacturing and aquaculture industries.
